Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. At Local GP, we understand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and we’re here to support you with compassionate, confidential care. Whether you’re experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, bereavement, sleep problems or other mental health concerns, our clinical team will listen, assess your needs and help you access the right support. Seeking help early can make a real difference, and you don’t have to manage things on your own.

Our clinical team can provide support for a wide range of mental health concerns, including:

Following an assessment, we will work with you to develop a personalised care plan, which may include self-help resources, medication, follow-up appointments or referral to specialist services.

How to access this service

Registered patients

The quickest way to access our mental health service is to complete an Accurx Medical Request. Your request will be reviewed by a clinician, who will assess your needs and ensure you receive the most appropriate care. This may include advice, an appointment with a GP, referral to another member of the practice team or signposting to specialist services.

Not registered with Local GP?

Our online medical request service is available only to patients registered with the practice.

Need help?

If you are unable to complete the online form, please telephone the practice and a member of our reception team will be happy to help.

If you feel your mental health is worsening while waiting to hear from us, please let us know.

If you need urgent help

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or need urgent support, help is available.

  • Contact NHS 111 and select the mental health option (available 24 hours a day).
  • If you are under the care of a mental health team, contact them directly using your crisis plan.
  • If you or someone else is at immediate risk of serious harm, call 999 or go to your nearest Accident & Emergency Department immediately.
