Submitting your request online helps us understand your symptoms and ensure you receive the right care from the most appropriate healthcare professional.

We respond to all Online Book medical requests within 24 hours. Urgent requests are prioritised and may be responded to sooner.

What can I use Online Book for?

You can use Online Book to request advice about:

  • Any other non-emergency medical concern

What happens after I submit my request?

  • A member of our clinical team will review the information you’ve provided.
  • We may contact you by telephone, text message or through Online Book if we need further information.
  • If appropriate, you’ll be offered an appointment with the most suitable healthcare professional.
  • Where appropriate, we may provide advice, arrange investigations or direct you to another suitable NHS service without you needing to attend the practice.

When should I not use Online Book?

Online Book is not suitable for medical emergencies.

If you have severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke, severe bleeding, loss of consciousness or any other life-threatening emergency, call 999 immediately or attend your nearest Accident & Emergency department.

If you need urgent medical advice when the practice is closed, contact NHS 111.

  • When they started
  • Any treatment you’ve already tried
  • Any photographs if requested (for example, skin conditions)
  • Any other information you think may be helpful
